Iran’s puppet festival postponed due to coronavirus

The 18th edition of Iran’s Int’l Puppet festival, Tehran-Mobarak, is postponed due to the coronavirus.

The 18th edition of Iran’s International Puppet festival, Tehran-Mobarak, has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

A new date has yet to be set for the event.

The 18th edition of Tehran-Mobarak had been scheduled for July 31- August 8.

Last month, Mitra Karim Khani, the director of the secretariat of the 18th edition of the festival, said 366 works had applied to take part in the event by the February 22 deadline.

Golzar Mohammadi was named as the secretary of the 18th edition of Tehran-Mobarak, but she passed away at the age of 42 in March after suffering from cancer.

The festival aims to pave the way for the quantitative and qualitative growth of puppet shows, and to create a platform for exchanging experiences.
